Finding Flow on Snow is the product of intensive research into the neuroscience of peak performance, also know as Flow State.
So you love skiing, you get out on the slopes as often as you can but you struggle to find the time to improve your skills so that you can ski the way you really want to. You have a life dream currently unfulfilled, to achieve something truly ambitious in the mountains.
For each person this is completely individual. It could be that you simply want to be able to keep up with friends and family while on your annual ski vacation. Maybe you want to be able to get more precious turns in without feeling so tired at the end of your ski day.
Perhaps you have a more ambitious goal. A big shiny bucket list life goal. Something transcendent like acquiring a ACMG or CSIA top level certification, becoming a big mountain skier of the calibre to compete in the Free Ride World Tour, or touring a multi-day back country expedition. But it seams impossibly far away.
Guess what... It's not as far away as you think.
Skilling up to the high performance ski level is not reserved for a select few naturally talented athletes of a certain age and background. Nor is it a matter of banging out X thousands of hours practice on snow. Becoming a kick ass skier with limited resources and starting late in the game is possible. It is a matter of building a strategic plan that leverages peak performance neuroscience to dramatically accelerated learning and performance.
Week 1: You will learn how to design a training environment that is customized to you personally. This is like miracle grow for your skiing skills. The best performers are backed up by a team of supporters. So shall you be, after learning how to implement environment design.
Week 2: You will learn to to measure progress. This is the most important thing almost no one does when they are trying to learn ski technique. Measuring progress is how you refine your training approach to make full use of your most precious and limited resources of time, energy and attention. In this way you get good enough to get to the really fun exciting experiences before boredom sets in. This is key to supercharging your will power to keep progressing.
Week 3: You will learn how to tune your nervous system to tap into your inner superhuman. This is where the neuroscience comes into play. We leave so much on the table as athletes trying to learn sports. In this week you will learn how to dial up focus and dial down anxiety at will so that you can perform your best on demand.
On this journey you will be supported every step of the way by not only myself but a community of really cool like minded goal driven skiers.
As Ski Icon Warren Miller used to say, "do it now, if you don't, you will just be one year older when you finally do."
